Sometimes, you’re blessed with a perfect day. The sun’s not too hot, the breeze isn’t too cold, you’re surrounded by your favorite landscape and you’re doing something you love. Kelsey and I had one of those times on our shoot, and we both loved it! She’s got a wonderful personality, bubbly and outgoing, and goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable. Her plans for the future are to go to Hancock Community College, and then transfer to a four-year university from there. She loves animals, and hopes to major in something that will have her working up close and personal with them. In five years, she sees herself finishing up university with a part-time job on the side, with her own apartment, and working on solidifying her career and purchasing a home. She’s ambitious, but her drive to achieve will make those ambitions realities!
Our shoot was location oriented, so we wanted to visit as many as possible! Kelsey and I worked together to find places that worked best with our color palette and our vision for the shoot. For some photos, she wore a stunning dress with a color gradient, and she looked beautiful against the green bushes, with their pops of pink flowers, and the multi-colored brick wall we found gave the scene some great texture for the camera to play with. The sun helped the whole look, and her boho style shone bright out in the fields we visited.
Kelsey’s ambition came from watching her sister accomplish her goals: “I look up to my sister,” she says, “She’s shown me right from wrong, and she set goals for herself to meet by going to Hancock, and then transferring to Cal Poly to major in biology and science. She’s graduated, and lives in LA following her dream. That’s what I want for myself in the future.” I know Kelsey will get there, too. Here’s what she said about me: “She gets you out of your comfort zone in the best way, and makes you feel comfortable and confident. She makes everything fun and her photos are works of art!” Thank you for saying so, Kelsey! I know you’ll achieve whatever you put your mind to, and I hope every day is a perfect one.
