There is a recent country song that talks about “Friday nights under the lights”. For many of my high school senior clients, those friday nights spent on the football field, cheering on their team, are some of their most beloved memories. There is something magical about coming together and celebrating school spirit! Ruby is a graduate from St. Joseph High School, and says her most treasured high school memories were, you guessed it, football games! That’s just one of the many special moments she experienced in her teen years there, where she played soccer and volleyball. She’s also part of the Respect for Life Club, which exists to help guide students towards defending their beliefs about issues relating to their personal faith. Her local youth group is also a big part of her life, and she lives out her convictions by spending much of her time volunteering with the elderly. Ruby is a truly exemplary young woman, who lives out what she believes in so many meaningful ways; it was such a joy to get to do her senior portraits. “I chose Jillian Marie Photography because the pictures look amazing”, she explained, “I have many friends that have done photoshoots with her, and they only gave me positive reviews and their pictures came out beautifully!”
Her friends would likely describe her as outgoing, funny, sassy, and friendly, and Ruby says her biggest role model is her mother, who is her best friend and someone who always “wants me to succeed”. She requested something very nature-based and breezy for her senior session, and we made it happen with a gorgeous location: the Santa Ynez mission in Solvang. It has stunning architectural details, and pretty garden areas and courtyards. It was perfect for Ruby’s personality and her caring spirit. Besides her faith and her volunteer work, Ruby is also passionate about helping others. She lists the local animal shelter and working with children in the foster care system as two things she values deeply. She plans to attend college after graduation, and enter the medical field so she can continue to help others.
