What does it mean to truly be happy? This is a question that crosses my mind often, as I see every senior getting ready to head out into the world, and seek out true happiness. I think we often equate happiness with success, which can sometimes be the case, but isn’t always. Someone who isn’t “successful” in the eyes of the world, can be truly happy serving others. Even when you are derailed by a sports injury, or a bad grade here or there, you can still find joy in who are you as a person, instead of your accomplishments. Macey is someone who is seeking out true happiness, and I think her journey will be really beautiful…because it starts with the heart of a beautiful girl. She is a senior at Righetti High School, and is an amazing soccer player as well. Her junior year had an extra special season in the sport, and she says that is her favorite high school memory so far. Macey also shared that she loves spending any time she can at the beach, and that she cannot wait to attend college out of the area to spread her wings after graduation.
When I asked her to share about her personal style, she said it’s best summed up as “cozy”, and she brought aspects of that into her senior session. I love her textured knit top, paired with a suede mini skirt that had oversized buttons. It is such a cool and casual look, and she also chose an outfit with a neutral funnel neck sweater and classic jeans…another great pick! Each choice showed her matter-of-fact yet fun personality, and our outdoor location showed them off to their advantage. Here in Santa Maria, the beach is always a highlight, but it doesn't mean each session has to be beachy and boho…they can still suit your personal style even if we are next to the water’s edge.
Macey shared with me that in five years, she just hopes to be living happily. That’s what I hope for all my seniors; a life filled with true joy, no matter the path life takes them on!
