What a man does in the world, he leaves it behind after he’s gone. That’s why when I meet men who want to leave behind something meaningful, I want to capture who they are and share it with the world. One of those men is Michael, and it was a joy to capture his soul in his senior photos. He’s graduating from Saint Joseph High School, where two of his favorite things are: friends and baseball. He loves spending time with his friends throughout the whole week, and enjoys honing his skill in one of his favorite sports each season. In his spare time, he works part-time as as concierge and waiter, and leaves behind his unique charm everywhere he goes.
For Michael’s session, we picked out a picturesque urban area, and it ended up being the perfect location for him. We took a stroll, and chatted a bit while we scouted out the next shot. Michael has a unique outlook on the world that was a joy to be around: he always looks on the bright side of things. Positivity is infectious, and it’s no wonder that his friends love to be around him. Michael values hard work and discipline, and admires Conor McGregor for his shared values, and for Conor being a truly self-made man who works harder than others. Michael holds these values close to his heart, and it looks great on him! I love the way that his pictures came out, especially the way that the colors played together with the vibes of the location. They came out perfect!
When asked about his future, Michael said that he hopes to get a college degree, and serve as an officer in the Navy. His reasons for doing so were not self-serving, but instead were the opposite: he longs to serve his country. It’s an admirable choice, and one that will leave a lasting mark on the world. We’re proud of his decision, and it was an honor to capture this time in his life before it changes. One of the reasons that Michael wanted me to do his senior photos is because “it’s a stress-free zone - just fun, and you get to be yourself in her sessions.” I work hard to make sure that’s true of each session, and am happy to hear that, so far, it’s been a success!
What Michael will leave behind when he goes is positivity, confidence, and the inspiration needed for each of us to sacrifice something in our lives to make the world better, and that’s nothing to sneeze at. I’m happy to know you, and I wish you all the best in what you do, Michael!
