The Couture Shoot. I look forward to this shoot every year. Its the pinnacle of my senior season and IT IS SO MUCH FUN. Every February, my VIPs have the option to participate in our themed, styled shoot. Naomi from Salon En.v designed the hair styles and accessories and Riley from RMRfx polished off the look with the perfect face.
This year the theme was Alice in Wonderland. I’ve been wanting to do this theme for years, and finally had the most perfect VIPs to pull it off. Ana was the quintessential Red Queen. She has the look of royalty and could totally embrace the character of the Queen. Alice was a complete no-brainer… Jenna. Her innocent smile and bright eyes would make the look complete. My Cheshire Cat would have to be Seyenna. Magical and mysterious. The white rabbit was definitely Kelsey.. even though she’s one of the most chill souls I’ve ever met; but who else would lead Alice down the rabbit hole? And of course, Marc would be my Mad Hatter. Just ‘mad’ enough. Confident enough to pull it off.
I was SO incredibly lucky to book the Dana Powers Barn for the weekend shoot. The setting completed that Wonderland feel. The barn is an amazing space and has everything you need as far as rentals/furniture/props to complete your vision.
The Couture Shoot is such a highlight for myself, as well as the hair and makeup team. It gives us the chance to step out of our box, be creative and really push ourselves to try new things. Creatives and artists in general, really need to set aside time for personal projects. I know for me, personal projects like the couture shoot give me the confidence and inspiration to challenge my art and my personal growth.
