In this season of thankfulness, there are so many things to be thankful for. The gorgeous colors of the autumn landscape, the cozy clothes worn to keep out the cold, and during this session, some of the best company you could ever ask for. It was so fun in this fall styled session with these wonderful gals, and it’s something I’m truly thankful for. Their creativity and their confidence always inspires me, and I get as much out of these sessions as they do.
For this styled session, we wanted to create a place where opposites attract. Those two opposites were two sensations: hot and cold. Cactus landscapes in a location where you can see your breath. Warm tones in the shade. Bright and sunny personalities where you have to layer; you get the picture. These ladies were the perfect fit for this concept, and carried it forward in ways that I wouldn’t have been able to imagine.
For this fall styled session, we found this gem of a location, which went perfectly with our theme as well as with each of the ladies’ outfits. We had a consistent denim look going, and capped it off with a few warm, dark tones, to fight off the cold. I loved the big scarfs the ladies had with them, and the textures that they brought to the shoot. Each of the girls are masters of self-expression, and especially so in their wardrobes. While the outfits were similar, there were subtle and unique differences to express their own personalities. You can see that in the pictures we got from the session, as each of their personalities radiate out in the chilly air.
I loved the rustic location, complete with antique automobiles and peeling paint, and it was a wonderful contrast to the youthful glow of the models. The red doors outlined in faded green wood turned out to be one of my favorite backdrops, and desert plants around the building were the perfect natural accent to the scene. It’s always fun location scouting, and when we came across this one, we knew instantly that it was a keeper.
I’ve been blessed with this community of creative women, and each of us get to carry the memories of our fun adventures and tears of joy with us everywhere we go. And that’s something I’m truly thankful for! What are you thankful for this season?
